Data Governance Senior Services Consultant Federal Government (Data & AI)
About the client:
Our client is a leading consultancy supporting federal government initiatives in data governance and analytics. This role contributes to the Data & AI program focusing on technical administration and implementation of IBM data governance solutions.
About the role:
We are seeking a Data Governance Senior Services Consultant to support the deployment and optimisation of enterprise data governance platforms. Youll work closely with senior data analysts and business users to implement and maintain metadata management data lineage stewardship and quality controls using IBM tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CPD) IBM Knowledge Catalog (IKC) IBM Manta Data Lineage and IBM Data Product Hub.
- Connect and automate scanning of analytics storage platforms to catalogue and maintain data holdings.
- Automate data classification and metadata harvesting for discoverability and sharing.
- Display data provenance and lineage to support compliance and legal authority.
- Monitor and baseline data quality to support analytics and identify issues.
- Control data access and maintain detailed usage logs.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in data governance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Hands-on experience with IKC CPD administration IBM Manta and Data Product Hub.
- Proven ability to work across teams and support business users.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship.
- NV1 Government Security Clearance (or in progress).
Whats on offer
This is a 150-day contract role with potential for extension commencing October 2025 based on-site or remote in Hobart Melbourne Canberra Sydney or Brisbane. Youll lead technical data governance efforts in a high-impact federal program.
