The Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the Operations Director by managing the preparation of the Groups monthly Board reporting packs including commentary reporting and forecasting in line with the business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the monthly board operations pack including commentary on variances and key events.
- Automate and evolve reporting inputs through collaboration with H&S Planning Construction and other departments.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register and oversee capital expenditure linked to expansion plans.
- Complete month-end close for the NUA entity ahead of Group consolidation.
- Build refine and maintain Solver reports to support quarterly forecasting and strategic planning.
- Update and automate site models and standard reporting for redesigns costing changes and programme adjustments.
- Analyse the impact of design or construction method changes on site costs and report findings.
- Monitor and report on sales pricing movements.
- Partner with Group Finance to deliver accurate cost variance reporting identify efficiencies and drive performance to budget/forecast.
- Support audits provide ad hoc analysis and assist the Operations Director/Head of Finance with additional projects as needed.
Requirements - Fully qualified accountant (ACA ACCA CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical knowledge.
- Solid experience in management accounting financial reporting forecasting and budgeting ideally within construction or a related industry.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build automate and refine reports and financial models; experience with Solver or similar systems an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data explain variances and link results to operational performance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills able to partner effectively with finance operations and site teams.
- Proactive organised and adaptable with a focus on process improvement automation and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
