Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator is primarily responsible for projects that provide network circuits (connections) to our higher education and research member this dynamic role you will be coordinating activities between our member institutions service providers and the BCNET departments of Member Engagement Procurement Services Network Services and Financial Services. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer and working with the PMO Lead you will support the delivery of projects across the organization. As the Project Coordinator youll have the opportunity to help grow an organization that works with a member community of public post-secondary research institutions and key stakeholder groups. The role offers exposure to responsibilities in the areas of service development relationship management and project management.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Serve as the lead project resource to support and manage the provisioning of network connections to primary sites of BCs higher education and research member community and to coordinate the renewal of existing network contracts with service providers.
- Conduct project meetings and coordinate project resources including forecasting throughout a project lifecycle.
- Engage and interact with technical network personnel within BCNET and our member community.
- Work directly with vendors to coordinate service implementations and resolve service and billing issues.
- Execute timely processing and alignment of vendor service billing and corresponding member invoicing for reimbursement.
- Based on existing and planned service contracts assist with the estimation of annual fees for each BCNET member.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Plan schedule and track project timelines milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and coordinate project dependencies and critical path.
- Develop and deliver progress reports proposals documentation and presentations.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope or timelines identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- 3 years of experience as a project coordinator business analyst or related position.
- Business analysis skills and experience are a definite asset.
- Experience in a higher education or public-sector environment is an asset.
- Experience with network or IT projects is an asset.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks and project management software is an asset
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects using waterfall project management methodology
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are required. Will be expected to meet and present to technical internal and client teams and write clear and well-structured documents related to projects.
- Ability to effectively facilitate consensus to achieve appropriate outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and being highly organized are critical
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts at all levels.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and connectivity practices is an asset.
