Job Description
Although the official spring season doesnt start until 3/2/2026 there will be various activities planning and interactions which will take place prior to the season as part of preparation
Start Date:March 2 2026
Sherwood High Schoolseeks a highly qualified individual to serve as Head Boys Tennis Coach. A successful candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Previous Head Coaching experience preferred.
- High ethical and professional standards.
- A thorough knowledge of tennis skill development and coaching techniques.
- The presence to be a role model for student athletes and the public face of the program.
- A commitment to the importance of academic excellece and achievement for all student-athletes in the program.
- Deomonstrate ability to lead young athletes.
- A highly tuned ability to communicate effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
- Skill in organization time management and pubic relations.
- Employ good judgment in a variety of situations including emergencies.
The Sherwood Head Boys Tennis Coach will be responsible for the following:
- Hire and oversee a staff of assistant coatches with Athletic Director approval.
- Develop and implement an off-season program for athletes.
- Advocate for multi-sport athletes
- Provide regular communication with parents/families.
- Regularly track the academic process of all student athletes in the program and facilitate necessary supports to ensure their academic eligibility.
- Works effectively and collaborates with other althletic programs to ensure off season/summer opportunities.
- Hold all student atheletes and coaching staff to high expectations.
- Help develop the youth program below 9th grade level.
- Work with local media as needed and establish strong working relationships with community support groups.
