About the role
Barnet is setting up a new Selective Licensing Scheme requiring landlords to license their private rented properties to help improve the standard of accommodation for the tenants. We are looking for highly motivated Technical Support Officersto join our Housing Regulatory Services with a focus on supporting the Selective Licensing Team validating applications and issuing licences. This is a key role working providing technical and administrative support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and enabling Enforcement Officers to protect and improve the health safety and welfare of every resident worker and visitor within the Borough.
About you
You will have extensive experience in a customer facing role and a good level of education to enable effective verbal and written communications.
You will have existing technical knowledge of the relevant areas of Housing Regulatory Services or the ability to develop technical knowledge.
Experience of operating data management systems and be highly proficient in Microsoft Word
The ability to provide accurate comprehensive and efficient technical support including the drafting of legal documents
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with a wide range of contacts and to deal with difficult or complex issues
Self motivated and adaptable you will be skilled in planning and prioritising workloads independently and meeting pre set targets
