Opportunity

We are looking for a Site Manager to lead operations at our cold storage site in Maasvlakte ensuring high performance safety and operational excellence.

As Site Manager you will lead operations with a strong focus on safety quality and operational efficiency while having full accountability for the sites P&L and overall performance. By managing the site you will have a significant impact on both short- and long-term financial and operational objectives as defined by the regional business plan. You will lead guide and develop operational activities for food and pharmaceutical segments driving meaningful results for the Business Unit. With your operational management expertise you will support and enable Maersks Cold Chain product families and value proposition whether as a standalone solution or part of a global cold chain offering.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Area Head of Maersk Contract Logistics you will be responsible for providing industry expertise to drive the sites business results and for guiding business planning and budgeting within the function. You will develop the operational capabilities of the site by applying LEAN principles fostering a strong culture of safety and quality management and implementing cost control and performance management methodologies to achieve Area targets. As an experienced team manager you will lead guide and develop your team to ensure the site meets its objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Profit & Loss

  • Full P&L responsibility for the site covering all clients

  • Management of new and existing customers

  • Contract management

  • Monitoring and improving site performance (cost/utilization)

  • Continuous improvement and optimization of assets

  • Preparation and follow-up of investment proposals

Product

  • Execution of site strategy in alignment with the Area Head

  • Develop new customers by liaising with area sales

  • Oversee site implementation and growth targets

  • Support tender handling for Area Business Development

  • Expand business footprint while ensuring profitable growth

  • Drive business development in line with strategy and site targets

  • Customize and localize products within the framework

  • Provide cross-functional support to Area Head and Business Development

Operational Excellence

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the site

  • Develop a high-performing team

  • Ensure HSSE and compliance adherence

  • Manage subcontractor requirements and usage at the site

  • Drive quality compliance and regulatory adherence

  • Maintain site security and IT standards

General Management

  • Lease administration

  • Contract management

  • Ensure adherence to the governance framework

People

  • Facilitate training linked to products solutions and clients

  • Lead all people and safety aspects

  • Foster a positive working environment and ensure excellent client service

We are looking for

You have 10 years of warehouse site management experience and excellent stakeholder management skills with proven experience working in an international matrix organization.

Lean thinking and continuous improvement are second nature to you and over the years you have developed excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.

You have strong knowledge of local market and culture and you are strong in dealing with customers. A high level of financial acumen reading interpreting and acting on P&L is your second nature. You are a native Dutch speaker and also have excellent written and verbal English skills.
