Job Description
Due to unprecedented growth we are now looking to expand our UK PR team significantly with the ambition to become one of the industrys most highly-rated Press Offices.
The Press Officer will be an integral part of the BYD UK PR team as the company continues to go from strength to strength in the UK and on the global stage. The newly created position will involve liaising with all types of media and KOLs across national local & regional business lifestyle and technology sectors.
The Role
- Create engaging written and visual content and UK-specific media assets including press releases press packs spec sheets media briefings awards submissions executive and product photography and video
- Lead the content and management of BYD UK media site
- Attend and host UK and international media events
- Management of key Press Office activities such as media monitoring /measurement/reporting liaison with key UK colleagues in sales/marketing/customer experience plus European and HQ teams
- Support the UK PR Manager and Head of PR with proactive and reactive management of media and KOL enquiries
- Liaison with the demo fleet third party and proactive management of the UK Press parc
- Stay abreast of the latest UK and global automotive business and technology trends and stories
- Awareness of digital PR social media platforms and tools would be advantageous
- The role reports to the UK Head of PR
What are we looking for:
- 3 years PR and/or journalism experience required. Automotive experience welcomed
- A passionate self-starter with a passion for the auto and technology industries
- Drive with a flexible and proactive outlook. Plus the capability to keep pace with the ambitions of the company and the overall PR team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to create compelling content and news stories
- Able to work independently under pressure and to limited timescales
- Strong team player
- Flawless multitasking and organisation skills
- Ability to travel in the UK and overseas including weekends if necessary
- Must hold a current driving licence
