Job Description
Systems Engineer position in Cedar Rapids IA.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident is required for this position
Security Clearance IS NOT required
1st Shift Monday Friday general office hours
Work will be onsite
CONTRACT: Estimated 6-month contract position to begin with the possibility of an extension or conversion to permanent full-time direct with our client.
PAY RATE: $50.00 to $61.00 per hour on a W-2 through our company. You choose the rate per hour that you want to request.
Job Description:
SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Description of duties
- You will perform design requirements validation & verification tasks for A/MH-6R MH-60M and MH-47G cockpit avionics for the US Army Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs.
- You will perform Platform Systems specific on-site execution of requirements-based testing robustness and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases).
- You will support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams for different Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) builds.
- You will perform your tasks using various engineering tools including TNT DOORS JIRA PREP Microsoft SVN and others.
- You will perform investigations of the Collins Aerospace lab hardware and environment; including integration investigations of the interfaces for Collin Aerospace equipment and government furnished equipment in the lab.
Required qualifications
- Relevant Systems Engineering Job Experience
- Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Working knowledge / understanding of data busses and protocols (Ethernet MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC-429)
Preferred qualifications (Not Required)
- Military Avionics Experience
- Experience with TNT DOORS PREP JIRA and/or Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
