Job Description

About the Role

JetBlue is seeking a Senior IT Platform Engineer to design build and support enterprise-grade cloud and infrastructure platforms. This role involves maintaining high availability of critical systems automating cloud pipelines troubleshooting complex issues and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should bring strong cloud/SRE experience technical leadership and a passion for JetBlues values: Safety Caring Integrity Passion and Fun.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design build and manage cloud infrastructure and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Maintain and support infrastructure platforms to ensure uptime and minimize incidents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across hardware software and cloud systems.
  • Provide guidance mentorship and training on new technologies to team members.
  • Test evaluate and implement emerging tools and solutions.
  • Manage upgrades enhancements migrations integrations and releases in cloud and disaster recovery environments.
  • Support backup/recovery processes and resolve escalated issues.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for production support.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX PCI IT General Controls and other regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 8 years of experience supporting production environments in cloud or hybrid settings.
  • 5 years of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience in Azure AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Kubernetes (clusters Helm Docker)
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
    • CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions)
    • Monitoring tools (Grafana Prometheus or similar)
    • Databases and Directory Services
  • Knowledge of IT best practices (Infrastructure CI/CD Change Management Cloud Security).
  • Flexible to support emergency incidents and occasional overnight travel (10%).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Fastly CDN and Network Director Software.
  • Experience managing applications in Azure or hosted datacenter environments.
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or equivalent.

  • Regular reliable attendance and flexibility for occasional off-hours work.
  • Ability to uphold professional appearance and represent JetBlues culture.
  • All crewmembers may assist with light aircraft cleaning when traveling on JetBlue flights.
  • Commitment to safety as JetBlues top priority including reporting concerns through JetBlues confidential safety reporting systems.
