Job Description

  • Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience practicing employment law both counseling clients and supporting litigation.

  • License to practice law required; active member in good standing with the Washington bar preferred.

  • Exceptional drafting interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Proven record of assuming and directing significant legal responsibilities in a fastpaced highly collaborative team environment.

  • Good team player with a focus on client service.

  • Self-starter with a sense of urgency integrity and fairness.

  • Legal knowledge of and experience with labor law immigration law Canadian labor and employment laws and OSHA and related local/provincial laws a plus.

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships credibility and trust with clients stakeholders law department team members and other colleagues.

  • Excellent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to travel at times.

The person in this position is expected to perform their job duties consistent with statutory and regulatory requirements as well as Company values standards culture and business practices. This attorney will act with the highest level of integrity and ethical standards in all aspects of job performance. What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program and we are targeting a salary range of $173700 - $262500 based on your level of skills qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program which offers a cash bonus targeting 30%of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

This position is also eligible to receive $69000 in restrictive stock units on an annual basis as part of our Long Term Incentive Plan.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our companys 401k plan which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of addition after being employed for six months eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.

You are an experienced Labor & Employment attorney who is confident advising human resources and business leaders on labor and employment related matters. In this role your primary responsibility will be working alongside our existing Labor & Employment Counsel to advise clients on labor and employment-related matters in the Company including managing employment-related litigation.

We are a fun fast-moving teamresponsible for providing legal advice governance and transactions support for a publicly traded company with over 20 million acres of North American timberlands and an industry-leading Wood Products business. You will report directly to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel and work primarily with a subset of our team responsible for providing guidance to Weyerhaeuser on all things related to employment practices. We take our work (but not ourselves) seriously and strive to achieve excellence in everything we do. This position is located in downtown Seattle at Weyerhaeusers corporate headquarters and offers the benefit of working from home up to two days a week (Mondays and Fridays) subject to business needs.
