PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to 28000 London Weighting depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Were looking for a Journalistic Researcher to join our award-winning audio team in the Science Unit. Youll help create smart surprising and entertaining content for platforms like BBC Sounds and Audible working on titles such as The Infinite Monkey Cage The Life Scientific Curious Cases and Why Do We Do That

Our audio team is a close-knit collaborative group within the wider Science Unit. As a Researcher youll have the opportunity to work across a variety of our shows contribute to new formats and learn innovative ways to make audio and digital content that connects.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
Collaborating with producers and presenters to shape episodes from idea to delivery
Generating fresh ideas for topics treatments and guests
Conducting deep-dive research and writing clear engaging briefs
Supporting recordings and audio editing
Ensuring all content meets BBC editorial guidelines
Championing diversity and inclusion in everything we make
Bring enthusiasm and insight to the world of podcasts
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA;
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience as an audio or TV researcher
Experience researching complex subjects including interpreting scientific papers
A natural curiosity and drive to uncover compelling stories
Strong organisational writing and communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
DESIRABLE CRITERIA;
Experience recording interviews and editing audio
Science degree
Some basic filming/camera experience for help with social media assets
