Pay Rate: $19.65
Basic Job Functions:
- Assembling components and ensuring that all parts are fitted correctly
- Control and adjust equipment settings to complete simple tasks accurately according to specifications and in a timely manner
- Assemble fabricated parts components or other units
- Align materials and assemble parts to build units
- Handle fiberglass/insulation
- Work with various chemicals including adhesives and hardeners
- Use hand and power tools to cut drill grind and fasten materials
- Use simple measurement instruments such as tape measures and scales to verify correct product build specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by complying with procedures rules and regulations
- General housekeeping duties (sweeping emptying trash etc.)
- Support other departments when work is slow in assembly
- Occasionally driving forklift
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic math skills
- Read and understand blueprints
- Use hand and /or power tools
- Basic reading and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working for a manufacturing company
- High school diploma and or equivalent and /or related experience
- Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
- Knowledge of 5S Lean Manufacturing
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
