ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Bridgewater College seeks an Administrative Support Coordinator for the Nolen School of Business and Professional Studies. Bridgewater College is a private liberal arts college located in Bridgewater Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. Established in 1880 our institution offers both undergraduate and graduate programs fostering a close-knit community and supporting a vibrant student population. Nolen School is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator to serve as a primary point of contact providing expert information and assistance to faculty students and campus visitors.

Reporting to the Dean of the Nolen School the Administrative Support Coordinator interacts with a multitude of individuals both on and off Bridgewaters campus. Provides administrative support to include credentialing finance logistics and office support special projects and managing student employees. Being organized detail-oriented flexible approachable knowledgeable independent and willing to work in a collaborative environment is critical to successfully navigate the varied needs of the dean faculty and students within the Nolen School.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Though not a comprehensive list it is the responsibility of the Administrative Support Coordinator to:

Credentialing:

  • Provides support to program directors e.g. teacher education to ensure that credentialing e.g. licensure and accreditation information is organized completed and submitted.
  • Gathers and maintains records for faculty preceptor and student credentials e.g. current licensure.

Budgeting

  • Tracks receipts expenditures and reimbursements.
  • Purchase/receive/checks for accuracy supplies equipment and other items for the school departments and programs.
  • Maintains a current budget accounting for all department program and school accounts.

Logistics and Office Support:

  • Enter work-order requests for facilities housekeeping and information technology needs.
  • Provides logistical support by organizing and coordinating the school/department events (including scheduling/catering)
  • Maintains inventory and orders office supplies in a timely manner.
  • Maintains scheduling for the Nolen School dean and facilities.
  • Provides general office support through administrative works e.g. answering phones copying managing mail

Special Projects:

  • Provides research and tracking support as needed for special school department and program projects.
  • Regularly updates and tracks social media for programs departments and school.

Management of Student Workers

  • Hires and manages Nolen School student workers.
  • Oversees and coordinates the daily activities of Nolen School student workers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school degree or equivalent with 2 years of related work experience required.
  • Associate degree in business management: administration assistant preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite Skills Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook required.
  • Ability to work independently required.
  • Ability to multi-task required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.

Pay is offered at a competitive hourly rate. This full-time 12-month position offers a full benefits package including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.
