Position Summary
The Community Activities Coordinator will facilitate community-based activities volunteer opportunities and other innovative programs in Anne Arundel County and Easton. This role ensures all program activities align with Fellos Day Services philosophy and are focused on building inclusive opportunities in the communities where people served live. With an Employment First approach the Community Activities Coordinator will support the development of individualized activities that promote connection skill-building and personal growth. This position also requires meeting all qualifications of a direct support professional.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in facilitating community-based services program planning and partnership development. They should be skilled at collaborating with staff people served and community partners to design meaningful person-centered activities. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills creativity and the ability to balance compliance with innovation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is the ability to work well under pressure provide constructive feedback and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five years of experience supporting people with disabilities including two years facilitating community-based services. A bachelors degree in therapeutic recreation social work or a related field is preferred. Completion of First Aid CPR and other required Fello/DDA trainings is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and other workforce development technology tools is expected.
