In Roches Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organisation (pRED) we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the worlds toughest unmet healthcare needs. At pRED we are united by our mission to transform science into medicines. Together we create a culture defined by curiosity responsibility and humility where our talented people are empowered and inspired to bring forward extraordinary lifechanging innovation at speed. The BioX Genetics and Genomics group as part of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in pRED supports preclinical safety studies (toxicology offtargets mode of action) and clinical biomarkers across various disease areas. Our technical expertise is focused on DNA and RNA analyses (e.g. next generation sequencing single cell gene expression spatial transcriptomics qPCR ddPCR and more) and includes data QC and analysis in collaboration with Bioinformatics and Biostatistical experts.
Contribute to innovative genomic assay development including rigorous analytical validation (sensitivity precision robustness) and assessment of clinical utility for celltype specific cfDNA assays.
Evaluate and benchmark cuttingedge technologies and methods for biomarker detection in neurodegenerative diseases (and potentially others) employing diverse PCR and nextgeneration sequencing techniques.
Design and execute lab experiments and support bioinformatic analyses.
Take initiative to develop and implement your own research ideas from analysis strategy to presenting findings to various stakeholders.
an enthusiastic and highly motivated student who is currently enrolled in a Masters level academic program or have graduated with a Masters degree in the field of within 12 months before the start date
strong molecular biology skills preferably with significant previous handson experience in DNA/RNA extraction from various human tissues nucleic acid quality control RT/PCR assays and next generation sequencing protocol development (e.g. Illumina or Oxford Nanopore) in the context of epigenetics.
bioinformatics skills prior experience in NGS data processing and analysis is a plus.
strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in written and verbal English is mandatory.
