RPO Recruitments client a well-established building contractor based in Gauteng is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The company specialises in a range of residential commercial and industrial building projects and is known for delivering quality workmanship and on-time project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage project budgets cost plans and cash flows
- Measure and value work done on site (including subcontractor valuations)
- Prepare tender documents bills of quantities (BOQs) and procurement schedules
- Manage cost reporting and ensure accurate financial forecasting
- Monitor contract compliance and manage contractual claims and variations
- Liaise with clients consultants subcontractors and project teams
- Conduct site visits and assessments to validate work completed
- Assist with final account preparation and project close-out
- Mentor and support junior QS staff where applicable
Requirements:
- BTech in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years experience in building construction (contractor-side)
- Strong understanding of JBCC and other relevant construction contracts
- Proven experience managing large-scale residential commercial or industrial projects
- Proficiency in QS software (e.g. CCS Candy BuildSmart or similar)
- Strong negotiation analytical and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Valid drivers license and own transport
- Experience with fast-paced or high-spec construction projects
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
