A great opportunity for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Cabarlah QLD. Late in 2026 there is expected work in Oakey as well a vehicle will be providedat that stage for travels to Oakey.
As a Vehicle Mechanic you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles including 4WDs trucks tracked and armoured vehicles infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks!

About the role
- Conduct Maintenance tasks including technical inspection and classification
- Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines transmissions and differentials.
- Reassemble test clean and adjust repaired or replaces parts
- Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
- Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting ignition and electronic fuel injection.
- Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates
About you
- Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level
- Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience
- Demonstrated experience to inspect repair and maintain Light Medium and Heavy vehicles
- Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Drivers License
- You must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
