The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Internal Medicine Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary veterinary hospital in Singapore. The ideal candidate will hold a veterinary degree with specialist board certification in Internal Medicine and must be eligible for licensure with the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) under NParks Singapore. This role requires advanced diagnostic expertise strong clinical judgment and a commitment to excellence in patient care.Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Complex Medical Conditions: Manage internal medicine cases involving respiratory gastrointestinal cardiology renal hepatic and endocrine systems.
- Advanced Diagnostics and Procedures: Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics including endoscopy ultrasound CT and echocardiography. Review labs imaging and consult with specialists for accurate case management.
- Patient Management: Develop and implement treatment plans oversee daily inpatient reviews and manage long-term care for chronic conditions.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with other veterinary specialists and departments to provide holistic multi-disciplinary care. Provide consultations for in-patient cases and guide treatment plans to optimise outcomes.
- Client Communication: Clearly explain diagnoses treatment options and follow-up care to pet owners with empathy and professionalism.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Continued Education and Training: Keep current with the latest developments in internal medicine and participate in professional development.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Supervise and mentor veterinarians interns and veterinary nurses. Lead hospital rounds journal clubs and continuing education sessions.
Qualifications- Veterinary degree from AVMA RCVS or AVBC accredited schools (UK Australia New Zealand or AVMA-accredited US schools recognised).
- Board certification in Internal Medicine (ACVIM/ECVIM or equivalent). * Residency-trained candidates eligible for board exams may also be considered.
- More than 5 years of clinical experience with advanced diagnostic and case management skills.
- Open to all nationalities (local candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong leadership abilities advanced clinical skills and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility for weekend and overnight shifts as part of a referral and emergency hospital team.
- Must complete Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (CPE) to maintain licensure and specialist certification.
