EY Telecom Infrastructure Review Manager-Level
As part of our Risk Consulting team you will be part of the focused team to activities related to Telecom Infrastructure reviews for various clients across the MENA region. Telecom Security is one of the few most important risks facing businesses today. We are looking for trusted consultants to enhance the capability. Also as organizations move forward on their digital journey the telecom risk exposure is increasing and there is a huge demand for trusted Risk Consultants. Our clients are overwhelmingly turning to EY for help and guidance on how to enhance the strategy aligned to the clients business and protect their assets minimise business disruption and improve security.
The opportunity
EY is looking for experienced Managers who can provide consulting for organisations on how to define manage and transform security requirements related to Telecom Sector. This role will see you take a key position in delivering review engagements by EY Risk Consulting team for various clients and supporting new pursuits related to Telecom Opportunities. You will also be expected to take a leading role in building out EYs cyber strategy and telecom security and risk framework working with alliance partners and advise clients on the current market trends.
The role will see you providing consulting as part of large multi-discipline EY engagement teams working on the likes of cyber transformation leading specific security engagements reviewing a clients cyber maturity advising on improvement roadmaps assessing a clients compliance with telecom industry leading security practice standards.
Your key responsibilities
A large part of your role will be engagement delivery and provide support to executives for business development. Well expect you to lead and deliver telecom infrastructure review/assessment engagements focussed on compliance and security requirements with very minimal supervision. We also expect you to support executives in development of proposals presentations and other business development activities. You will be responsible for the delivery and quality of the review/assessment activities to our clients.
You will have responsibility for;
- Understand the strategic technological organizational regulatory and technical challenges of operators
- To provide knowledge on new Telecom technologies (5G Fiber FWA and ICT (Managed Connectivity Cloud Cybersecurity) as well as the regulation of the sector
- Having depth knowledge in Telecom Infrastructure devices telecom networks telecom supporting devices and its architecture.
- Developing the strategies policies plans programs and infrastructure of the telecommunications and information technology sector
- Experience in reviewing the establishment operation and maintenance of public telecommunications networks and the provisions governing infrastructure sharing by facilities-based service providers
- Understanding on the risks to Telecom industry such as DDoS attacks Data Breaches etc.
- Experience in Network Resilience and Segmentation activities
- Ensure a constant watch on trends innovations and realities in the telecom market
- Produce benchmarks to assess performance and identify growth and diversification levers in line with industry best practices
- Segmenting targets and anticipating market developments
- Develop telecom transformation roadmaps evolution scenarios governance or process models adapted
- Translating customer issues into concrete and structured recommendations
- Contribute to the drafting of strategic deliverables and feedback to stakeholders
- Contribute to business development such as writing proposals
- Travelling to MENA region at client premises for engagement delivery (domestic and international)
- Your role will broadly constitute 60% engagement delivery and 40% business development.
Skills and attributes for success
An existing track record of successful engagement delivery in building security strategy and security roadmap is expected of all candidates for this role. A Big 4 background or comparable consulting experience is highly advantageous. A broad background across security domains is expected with specific experience in two or more of the following areas essential;
- Knowledge in Telecom security and 7-15 years of hands-on experience with key components of cybersecurity consulting incl.:
- Telecom Infrastructure Assessments and road-mapping
- Telecom Network & infrastructure security
- Telecommunication security transformation
- threat detection
- incident response
- vulnerability management
- security governance
- risk and compliance
- security awareness
- cloud security
- Experience in working independently or as part of a large team to delivery Risk services on its own or within large complex projects.
- Practical experience with conducting risk assessments and testing of controls
- Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of data analytics methods
- Possession of the CISA ISO 27001 LA/LI certification or equivalent
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Excellent interpersonal written verbal communication and presentation skills
- Excellent command in written and spoken English
- Experience in managing professional service project teams
To qualify for the role you must have
- High-level higher education (Engineering degree masters degree or equivalent.
- You have a minimum of 8 years proven experience in the telecoms sector in an operator service provider or consulting firm environment
- Ability to structure approaches and deliverables
- Good customer and internal communication
- Good knowledge of the telecom sector and its technological developments
- Good knowledge of the technical and business challenges of the sector
- Strong skills in strategy marketing or business development
- Communication skills (oral/written) in English
- Certifications ISO 27001/ISO 22301/CISA/CISSP/CRISC
- Excellent communication skills with consulting experience preferred
- A valid passport for travel.
