Job Description
Seeking an experienced Rail industry Risk Manager to work with Network Rail on the Transpennine Route Upgrade project for a 6 months period. 3 days per week office present 2 days remote. Option of Manchester or York offices.
Some of the key accountabilities of this role are:
1. Provide leadership and guidance in the concept of R&VM maintaining their appropriate and effective application to all stages of the project lifecycle.
2. Deliver Level 1 Assurance activities as specified by the Principal R&V Manager.
3. Manage &/or deliver specialist R&VM support services as dictated by the R&VM maturity of the project community.
4. Actively promote R&VM culture and improve R&VM competency across the project and programme management community.
5. Monitor the output of others who undertake such R&VM activities to monitor competence consistency and compliance with Network Rail procedures and provide assurance.
6. Manage the buying in of external R&VM support where necessary and that these are delivered to required quality standards.
7. Maintain a robust view of required levels of R&VM services and assure that suitably qualified & experienced resource is available to meet these requirements.
8. Drive the implementation of ER&VM framework across their area.
Qualifications :
Suitable Rail and Risk Management background.
Expert in all aspects of project and business risk management facilitation
Able to build risk models in a number of applications which accurately represent the complexities of cost schedule and business risk
Able to coach and challenge management and non specialists the results of risk management
Knowledge of risk management techniques
Knowledge of project management and project control processes
