GENERAL SUMMARY
The San Antonio River Foundation is seeking a creative organized and proactive individual to support administration park reservations marketing and community engagement activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys juggling tasks has an eye for design and values environmental stewardship and cultural programming.
Reports to: Admin & Community Engagement Manager
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Initial Term: 3-month probationary contract
Contract Renewal: Full Contract till June 30 2026 followed by annual contract renewal beginning July 1 2026 based on performance and funding
Hours: 1020 hours per week
Pay:$18-22 per hour (depending on experience)
Location: Hybrid weekly in office meetings in addition to work from home and in-person support at Confluence Park and outreach events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Park Reservations and Program Coordination:
- Facilitates Confluence Park reservations and supports programs projects and events along the San Antonio River and its tributaries including Confluence Park and San Pedro Creek Culture Park the Mission Reach Museum Reach and Southern Basin.
- Develops and implements strategies to increase Confluence Park and other facility reservations and revenue.
- Create annual reservation orientation materials for internal keyholders to ensure consistent use of park spaces and resources.
- Coordinate the annual deep cleaning of Confluence Park and monitor ongoing maintenance needs including signage updates and bulletin board event postings.
- Clarify and document operating procedures for opening and closing the park including cleaning protocols and facility readiness.
- Support office and storage organization to maintain efficient and accessible workspaces
- Coordinating with security officers for events
- Coordinate and implement photo permits for Confluence Park
- Builds maintains and expands relationships with the public and local regional and national partners.
- Maintains SARF internal and external programmatic and reservation calendars.
- Maintain that the website is up to date and facilitates with webmaster as needed.
- Communicates with park reservation points-of-contact event organizers and program partners.
- Leads walkthroughs and tours of facilities as they relate to park reservations and programs.
- Provides operational functions before during and after SARF programs and events including set up and breakdown (folding tables chairs pop-up tents etc.).
Administrative Support
- Answer phones and manage incoming communications
- Maintain digital filing systems via SharePoint
- Manage and update CRM (Bloomerang)
- Receive and sort physical mail
- Assist with donor letters printing and event mailings
- Maintain and update calendars and meeting appointments
- Add constituents to database from outreach events
- Assists Executive Director and staff with general office management
Board Support
- Schedule Board and Committee meetings via Outlook & Teams
- Track RSVPs and attendance
- Distribute meeting materials
- Support setup and virtual recording (Microsoft Teams)
- Maintain Board Directory and order name tags
- Help plan staff & board retreats holiday parties and other internal events
Marketing & Communications Support
The ideal candidate will bring skills related toor a strong willingness to learnthe following areas:
- Use Meta / for social media advertising
- Scheduling Posts for Instagram and Facebook via Notion and Meta
- Create engaging content for visuals for social media (especially via Canva & Adobe Suite)
- Write professional newsletters to donors and community members
- Support the creation of flyers blog posts Facebook events
- Update website news sections
- Take initiative in identifying marketing gaps or content needs
- Creating / Editing Video Content

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
- This position does not directly supervise any employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- An Undergraduate Degree from an accredited college or university or any combination of education training and three (3) years of experience related to non-profit office administration communications special event management program support and facilitation or related fields.
Required Licenses or Certifications
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license and an insurable driving record.

- Ability to provide excellent customer service; Ability to understand written or oral instructions: read analyze and interpret documents instruction manuals policies and procedures is essential; English language proficiency is required and Spanish language proficiency is appreciated; Excellent written and verbal communication skills including speaking in front of groups on the phone and via email; Strong interpersonal skills are essential to maintaining effective working relationships with elected officials agency representatives civic groups employees and members of the general public.
