Job Description
We are seeking a Solicitor with 2-5 yrs experience and a background in indirecttax to join our market leading Taxation team in Sydney.
In this role you will be responsible for delivering timely commercially focussed and cost effective advice to clients on the tax issues arising out of a wide range of transactions including issues related to the disposal and acquisition of businesses and acquisition and disposal of entities.
About the team
We advise some of the worlds largest banks financial institutions investment advisers insurance funds management telecommunications resources energyand industrial companies on taxation law aspects of their transactions in Australia and offshore. We work closely with colleagues in other practice groups. As a team we share new ideas and have a cohesive approach to client needs to develop a detailed knowledge about them.
You will have
recognisedindirect taxexperience including some stamp duty experience gained in a similar environment
excellent analytical communication and research skills - to deliver prompt and commercially astute advice
strong commitment to client service and well-developed relationship management ability - you will play a key role in supporting and actively developing our relationships with our clients
team focus - to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues
enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities - presenting at industry related programs and managing strategic relationships and networks
first rate experience of drafting documents (including opinions letters of advice information memorandums agreements etc).
