Client Servicing Manager (CSM)
Objective:
To manage client communication and project execution for packaging design and artwork
ensuring precise translation of brand needs into technically sound print-ready outputs. The
CSM will set up monitor and improve workflows from briefing to final approval working
closely with prepress design and print teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Project Management
- Be the single point of contact for clients across packaging design and artwork stages.
- Understand client expectations SKU complexities print constraints and timelines.
- Translate marketing briefs into technically actionable instructions for design and prepress
teams.
- Maintain clear project trackers for multi-SKU rollouts and ensure delivery milestones are
met.
Workflow Setup & Process Governance
- Define document and implement structured workflows across stages:
> Briefing Design Adaptation Proofing Client Approval Final Release
- Set up and monitor checkpoints escalations version control and approval cycles.
- Identify inefficiencies and actively work on process correction and automation.
Technical Oversight Packaging Artworks
- Ensure designs adhere to print process limitations (offset gravure flexo digital).
- Validate artworks for:
- Correct dielines bleeds layers
- CMYK/PMS/special color usage
- Barcode placement and readability
- Foil/emboss/varnish indicators
- Liaise with design and prepress for color separation trap settings and white underprint.
Proofing & Quality Review
- Manage proofing rounds (digital soft proofs and physical mockups).
- Coordinate color matching with clients and print vendors.
- Ensure accuracy between versions and completeness of change logs.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate daily with:
- Design team for creative and adaptation
- Prepress for color workflows and file preparation
- Printers/converters for feasibility and final outputs
- Maintain alignment with production specs material changes and supplier constraints.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Build SOPs and documentation for:
- Common packaging types (folded cartons labels shrink sleeves etc.)
- Brand-specific requirements
- Preflight and QC checklists
- Maintain artwork archives and ensure version integrity across jobs.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 5 8 years in a packaging artwork/prepress studio or brand-side packaging
role.
- Tools & Tech: Adobe Illustrator PDF editing tools Esko workflows (preferred)
understanding of DAM and automation tools.
- Print Knowledge: Offset gravure flexo digital printing processes. Familiarity with
substrates and finishing processes.
- Strengths: Process setup multi-stakeholder coordination sharp eye for detail and
packaging workflow knowledge.
