Our government rests on the foundation of citizens choosing the representatives who govern us. Consequently the Johnson County Election Office manages voter registration precinct boundaries candidate filings and campaign reports and as mandated by the laws of Kansas administers all federal state and local elections for over 450000 registered voters and for more than 2300 elected positions in Johnson County.
TheElection Communications Coordinator will assess plan implement and evaluate internal and external communications and plan and support community relations and outreach initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
Bachelors degree in Journalism Communications Marketing Public Relations or relevant field of study two (2) years experience in journalism corporate or organizational marketing communications or public relations and professionalexperience using software to create graphic elements for social media and creating videos for social mediarequired.
Experience in public sector or non-profit communications preferred but not required.
Experience may substitute for education and education may substitute for experience.
Candidate must be able to successfully pass motor vehicle and criminal background screenings.
Physical Environmental and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments/agencies in a declared emergency situation.
