The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is seeking a dynamic Medicaid Deputy Director to play a pivotal leadership role in one of the largest and most impactful healthcare programs in the state. With an annual budget of $16 billion nearly 1500 staff and contractors and programs that touch the lives of millions this position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of Louisianas most vulnerable populations.
As Deputy Director you will oversee the Medicaid Eligibility Division and Louisiana Childrens Health Insurance Program (LaCHIP) ensuring access to essential medical services for families and children across the state. You will lead high-level operations manage senior program managers and collaborate closely with state and federal partners to navigate complex healthcare policies and regulations.

Three years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the supervisory level or above:
Nine years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus six years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services; OR
A bachelors degree plus six years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus five years of experience in developing managing or evaluating health or social service programs; or in public health public relations social services health services health regulation or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
