Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant Oracle & MS SQL Server DBA!
In this role the ideal candidate will have deep expertise in both Oracle Database specifically version 19c and Microsoft SQL Server. This role is crucial for ensuring the performance integrity security and high availability of our diverse database systems.
Responsibilities
Database Administration & Management (Cross-Platform):
oInstall configure upgrade and patch Oracle Database (19c) and MS SQL Server instances.
oPerform routine maintenance activities including backups restores and data recovery planning.
oMonitor database performance diagnose bottlenecks and conduct performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
oManage user accounts security roles and permissions to comply with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
oDevelop and maintain automation scripts (e.g. Shell Scripting PowerShell Python) for routine and administrative tasks.
Oracle DBA Specific Responsibilities:
oAdminister and manage Oracle 19c environments including multitenant architecture (CDB and PDBs).
oImplement and manage high-availability solutions such as Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
oUtilize Oracles backup and recovery tools primarily RMAN (Recovery Manager) for data protection.
oOptimize performance using native Oracle tools like AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) ASH (Active Session History) and Explain Plan.
oPerform database migrations and upgrades to Oracle 19c from older versions.
MS SQL Server Specific Responsibilities:
oManage and administer MS SQL Server environments () including setting up and configuring instances.
oImplement and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions like Always On Availability Groups Failover Cluster Instances and Log Shipping.
oDevelop tune and optimize T-SQL queries stored procedures and functions.
oUtilize SQL Servers performance monitoring tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) and Extended Events.
oManage and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Collaboration and Support:
oCollaborate with application development teams to design and optimize database schemas queries and applications.
oProvide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for database-related issues.
oDocument database architectures procedures and best practices.
oParticipate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for mission-critical production systems.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Database specifically version 19c including administration performance tuning and high-availability features.
Extensive hands-on experience with MS SQL Server including administration T-SQL development and high-availability solutions.
Expertise in backup and recovery strategies for both Oracle (RMAN) and MS SQL Server.
Experience with various operating systems (Linux/UNIX for Oracle and Windows Server for MS SQL Server).
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for 19c and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Microsoft Azure) and managing databases in a cloud environment.
Knowledge of other database technologies (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL) is a plus.
