About NC State Highway Patrol
The Mission of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol is to ensure safe efficient transportation on our streets and highways reduce crime protect against terrorism and respond to natural and manmade disasters. This mission will be accomplished in partnership with all levels of government and the citizens of North Carolina through quality law enforcement services based upon high ethical professional and legal standards.
The primary purpose of the State Highway Patrols Fiscal Section is to ensure that all department financial resources and funds are received disbursed recorded and accounted for in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
The Accounting Manager position is a Non-Sworn/Administrative position assigned to the Fiscal Section of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP). This position plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the NCSHP Fiscal Section supporting management decision-making through the recording classification examination analysis and interpretation of fiscal data and financial transactions. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of internal accounting controls and will serve in a supervisory capacity for lower-level fiscal section subordinates. The Account Manager oversees multiple accounting processes provides guidance on procedures and methods and offers direct support to the NCSHP Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Job responsibilities include:
State Highway Patrol uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to theState Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals.
