Job Description
We are looking to hire a Technician to join our Decommissioning Technical team. The team is responsible for processing and facilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed from the premises.
Key job responsibilities
Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of the data center facilities.
Moving/lifting IT equipment using manual handling tools.
Unpacking/repacking fragile electronics.
Relocating and moving of large equipment.
Operate HDD and SSD destruction machinery.
Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
Hard drive installation and removal and destruction.
Basic Networking removal/installation
Updating work progress through a web system.
Reporting of processes and regular status updates.
Documenting procedures.
Escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required.
Familiarity with basic PC components/hardware:
HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media
Peripheral Equipment. Ram/CPU /Motherboard/Add on card
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager
- Basic knowledge of IT hardware (desktops laptops servers) and its configurations.
- Good written and verbal communication
- Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware.
- Networking knowledge.
