Job Description


School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) is located in the southern Interior of British Columbia Canada and serves the Lower Kootenay Band and the communities of Kaslo Meadow Creek Crawford Bay Creston Wynndel Yahk Nelson Salmo South Slocan Winlaw Slocan and the surrounding rural areas. Kootenay Lake School District serves the learning needs of approximately 4700 students in several diverse communities and in an array of learning environments throughout the Kootenays. The School Board Office is located in Nelson B.C. Our schools are dispersed geographically and range in size and composition:


- 13 elementaryschools

- 1 K-10school
- 4 secondaryschools

- online learningand blendedprograms
- an extensive array of program options including Aboriginal Education Late French Immersion Outdoor Programs and a strong International Program.


Salary Range; $63367 $111488 per year in accordance with the current SD8Kootenay Lake / KLTF Collective Agreement. Placement on the salary grid is based on qualifications and years of teaching experience as evaluated by the BC Teacher Qualification Service (TQS).


Job Description & Requirements

The teaching assignment for this position contains Makerspace/Digital Literacy 6 Digital Literacy 7 Digital Literacy 8 Media Arts 8 Info Tech 9 and Entrepreneurship 9.

The schedule for this position is Tuesday mornings Thursday and Friday. Please contact Principal Mushumanski () for full details on the schedule including preparation and collaboration time for this assignment.

Applicants must be certified in British Columbia with a Professional Teaching Certificate or be eligible for certification by the start date of the assignment.Only applications submitted on Make a Future will be considered.
