A position has been declared open in the Weber School District in the Student Services Department for a Mental Health Therapist This position will require8.00 hours per day five days per week182 days 15 additional contract days (9 months)per year is compensatedaccording to the Educator Salary Schedule and is eligible for benefits. The incumbent will be assigned 2 or more schools within the same general area; as such some limited travelmay be required.

Job Description:
Mental Health Therapists work directly with school teams to provide mental health support to regular education and special education K-12th grade students under the direction of Student Services.
- Focus on students with chronic absenteeism due to many social factors;
- Provide support to students associated with bullying/harassment disruptive behavior suicide/self-harm violence/harm to others drugs/alcohol/tobacco abuse sexual deviance and more.
- Provide individualized management and safety plans;
- Coordinate support efforts with school personnel (administrators teachers counselors behavior specialists/aides);
- Facilitate training on mental health issues;
- Provide recommendations and resources related to behavioral risk;
- Collaborate closely with community-based mental health agencies;
- Participate in a direct service or consultative role in crisis situations
- Implement district and school policies/procedures regarding state and federal laws
- Process and maintain confidential files as required by state and federal laws
- Work collaboratively with local community resource agencies to coordinate services and service plans
- Maintain flexibility such as changes in staff or individual student programs
- Attend required district meetings and events
- Drive to school sites in districts
- Attend work consistently
- Demonstrates professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
- Conforms to district policies including attendance absences and evaluations.

Qualifications:
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- A current DOPL license to provide mental health services is required. The following licenses will be accepted: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) and licensed Psychologist.
- The following licenses will be considered: Certified Social Worker (CSW) and Associate Mental Health Counselor (AMHC) with clinical supervision provided by a qualified and licensed clinician as appropriate and determined by the school district for a designated period of time.
- Previous experience working in related field preferred
- Valid Drivers License operational vehicle and insurance
