The opportunity
As R&D Electrical Engineer you will join our South America R&D Center an organization
leading continuous research and development activities on transformers. Specifically you
will be part of the R&D Team in Blumenau (Brazil) and you will contribute to the
development of projects related to the electrical performance of distribution transformers
and contribute to the successful roadmap execution.
Responsibilities
- Propose and analyzeinnovative ideasin the electrical design of distribution transformers to meet the challenging technical requirements of new markets.
- DefineDesign of Experiments (DoE)to validate proposed solutions.
- Design and supervise themanufacturing and testing of prototypes.
- Lead R&D project execution ensuring performance timelines and costs are within expectations.
- Document project progress draw conclusions and developdesign rulesbased on validated solutions.
- Protect validated solutions through appropriateintellectual property (IP)strategies.
- Support fellow R&D colleagues across the global Hitachi Energy R&D community by analyzing and optimizing electrical designs in other projects.
- Providetechnical supportto factories sales teams and customers when needed.
- Uphold Hitachi Energys core values ofsafety and integrityin all activities.

- Masters degree or currently pursuing a masters Degree inElectrical Engineering with a focus onpower machinery.
- Solid knowledge in Power transformers and Electromagnetism
- Preferred tools and software:Creo COMSOL and Maxwell
- Background in theenergy sectororacademic researchis desirable.
- Language: English (Advanced)
- AvailabilityWillingness totravel occasionally(approximately 15 days per year)
