PUBLIC HOUSING INTAKE SPECIALIST
Compensation: $18.90 per hour ($39312 annualized) - $23.25 per hour ($48353 annualized). **The starting wage for this position will be $18.90 per hour.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION FUNCTION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision performs a variety of complex duties related to the Housing Authoritys provision of housing assistance through its Public Housing programs. Duties include functions such as reviewing and processing eligibility applications of prospective tenants; verifying information provided by applicants and tenants; performing interviews of prospective tenants to determine eligibility for housing programs; identifying barriers and improvements to intake processes to ensure accessibility to AHA intake processes for persons with disabilities and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) households and performing a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility to ensure accurate efficient and productive processing of housing applicants; performs other related duties as assigned.

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Equivalent to graduation from the twelfth (12th) grade and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative support which included heavy public contact in a social services agency community services organization public housing or similar agency.

Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures and federal documents. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors contractors supervisors co-workers residents and city/county agencies.
