Whats the role
Were seeking Lead Data Engineers to help drive the UNITE Program permanent Sydney-based roles. Youll lead the design and delivery of robust data pipelines own the full lifecycle from discovery through to production and guide cross-functional teams across onshore and offshore locations. This is a senior hands-on leadership role with direct impact on Westpacs transformation agenda.
What do I need
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a major in Software Engineering (or equivalent).
- 7 years experience in data engineering and analytics.
- Strong coding in Python SQL Informatica and Unix scripting.
- Strong experience with big data processing frameworks such as Spark and Kafka.
- Familiarity with Azure Synapse Azure Data Lake Services Azure Event Hubs Azure Cosmos DB Snowflake Teradata and enterprise data architecture.
- Proven leadership in large-scale transformation environments.
- Ability to translate technical complexity into business-friendly insights.
- Experience in leading agentic AI adoption automating delivery tasks and driving innovation across the data lifecycle.
