Your role: Business Controller Damen Global Support
Damen Global Support BV offers various supporting services to all Damen companies/divisions. Services like Global Marketing Global Sales Global IT HR Finance Logistics Procurement and Group Expertise functions.
As Business Controller within Damen Global Support you will be a strategic financial partner to the department directors of our global support functions including CIO CHRO. You report directly to the Finance Director Ebele Jan van der Laan and play a key role in steering financial performance optimizing costs and enabling informed decision-making across the division.
In this broad role you bridge finance and business control.
What youll do
Analyse and Advise
- Deliver real-time insights into budget utilization burn rate and cost-efficiency.
- Build financial models to assess feasibility and alignment with business goals.
- Conduct variance analyses and recommend corrective actions.
Plan and Forecast
- Lead the annual budgeting process and develop short- and long-term forecasts.
- Collaborate with departments to create accurate and insightful financial projections.
Control and Report
- Support month-end closing and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Monitor key financial metrics and communicate findings to IT and finance leadership.
Partner and Influence
- Work closely with department heads to understand initiatives and provide financial guidance.
- Help prioritize projects based on financial impact and strategic relevance.
- Influence cost allocation and drive value-for-money across services.
What you bring
Were looking for professionals who combine analytical strength with business acumen.
- Masters degree in Finance Accounting Business or related field
- 35 years of experience in financial analysis budgeting and cost control
- Strong understanding of Finance and IT operations.
- Proficiency in SAP4 Hana Power BI Excel and financial modelling tools and experienced in large data handling.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (flexible in adaptation at different levels)
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment
