We are seeking a Program Design Engineer to support the continued performance and reliability of our Ram Air Turbine (RAT) systems - vital systems that provide emergency power for aerospace this role you will modify and enhance existing product designs across mechanical hydraulic and electrical domains. Youll apply strong engineering fundamentals to solve design challenges integrate multi-disciplinary systems and ensure compliance with aerospace performance and safety standards.

What Youll Do

• Modify and improve existing product designs for RAT systems and their components including turbines gearboxes hydraulic pumps actuators and associated electrical systems.

• Support hardware analysis detailed design updates and system integration to improve manufacturability reliability and performance.

• Support qualification performance and environmental testing of modified components and systems.

• Support root cause investigations on hardware and system failures (mechanical hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical) and implement corrective actions.

• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical hydraulic and electrical components.

• Partner with manufacturing and test engineering to resolve production assembly and testing challenges.

• Maintain compliance with aerospace standards certification requirements and customer specifications.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Qualifications We Prefer

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

• Background in rotating hardware analysis hydraulic systems and electro-mechanical integration.

• Knowledge of product development processes including component- and system-level qualification testing.

• Experience in sustaining engineering and modifying existing designs.

• Experience with Unigraphics (NX) or similar CAD design software

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
