About the Role
The primary function of the Accommodated Exam Centre Coordinator is to ensure services for students experiencing disability related barriers and support faculty in meeting their duty to accommodate students in the Accommodated Exam Centre. This position deals with a large number of students faculty and staff daily coping with varying concerns inquiries personalities and disabilities and requires exceptional organizational skills independent action establishing priorities and problem-solving. The incumbent is responsible for supervising the Access and Inclusion Services Accommodated Exam Centre Administrative Assistant positions in communicating supporting and assisting faculty students and others requiring service in the Accommodated Exam Centre and its satellite locations. Responsibilities include communication with supervision of and training of all Accommodated Exam Centre Administrative Assistant positions including the Administrative Assistant Accommodated Exam Assistant Accommodated Exam Scheduler and the Accommodated Exam Facilitator in the execution and development of their corresponding roles. Responsibilities also include the supervision of the scheduling and receiving of exams for students experiencing disability related barriers; communication and collaboration with faculty and other MRU departments to help meet Mount Royals legal duty to provide reasonable accommodation to students with disabilities or other protected grounds; as well as the organization execution facilitation and invigilation of accommodated exams. This supervision responsibility includes ongoing supervision performance appraisals any disciplinary action and collaboration with other members of the Mount Royal community. Participation as a team member in daily processes and procedures with Access and Inclusion Services staff and attendance at department meetings are also required in addition to knowledge and observance of Alberta Human Rights legislation.
This position is a full-time role working 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities
Supervision of the Accommodated Exam Centre and the day-to-day operation of all accommodated exam satellite locations:
- Oversee day-to-day operation of the Accommodated Exam Centre and all accommodated exam satellite locations.
- Train support staff needed to facilitate exams and other required assessments in the Accommodated Exam Centre and its satellite locations.
- Recruit interview and hire casual staff to assist with the invigilation or processing of exams in the Accommodate Exam Centre and satellite locations.
- Monitor and evaluate casual staff.
- Maintain up to date knowledge with respect to data supporting the ongoing Accommodated Exam Centre needs of students and faculty.
- Meet with other MRU departments to organize additional rooms/space or furniture for Accommodated Exam Centre satellite locations as needed.
- Monitor the Accommodated Exam Centre and satellite locations for issues that may arise.
- Develop implement and communicate all updates and changes to process and procedures in the facilitation of exams.
- Be available during midterm and final exams.
- Oversee and maintain all timelines needed to maintain efficient workflow of the Accommodated Exam Centre.
- Collaborate with other Access and Inclusion Services staff on the annual report and strategic plan.
Communicate and collaborate with MRU faculty staff and students to oversee the facilitation of exams and other assessments.
- Recruit faculty and staff to assist in the facilitation of final exams.
- Responsible for the training of faculty and staff for final exams. Conduct at least three days of training to familiarize faculty and staff with the processes and procedures required to invigilate final exams.
- Communicate with faculty to resolve any issues or concerns pertaining to exams or other assessments in the Accommodated Exam Centre.
- Communicate timely and accurately the processes and procedures of the Accommodated Exam Centre to ensure organized and efficient facilitation of exams.
- Monitor communication between faculty and the Exam Team to ensure diplomatic and timely resolution of any problems or concerns.
- Process and submit accurate timesheets to Payroll.
- Meet with students to address any problems or concerns about Exam Seating Requests or issues in the Accommodated Exam Centre and/or the satellite locations.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to resolve conflicts with overlapping seating times.
- Meet with students to resolve issues that may arise with accessing support and services in the Accommodated Exam Centre.
Supervision of Access and Inclusion Services Accommodated Exam Centre team (Administrative Assistant Accommodated Exam Assistant Accommodated Exam Scheduler Accommodated Exam Facilitator) and support staff:
- Oversee final exam support staff in the facilitation of exams.
- Supervise and support Access and Inclusion Services Accommodated Exam Centre team (Administrative Assistant Accommodated Exam Assistant Accommodated Exam Scheduler Accommodated Exam Facilitator) in front facing communication and activities the coordination of scheduling receiving and facilitating of accommodated exams for students experiencing disability related barriers and services for/communication with faculty.
- Provide regular supervision meetings and annual reviews to contribute to the performance review of members of the Accommodated Exam Centre Team.
- Lead the development and articulation of the Accommodated Exam Centre team activities that contribute to the departments operational plan the efficient facilitation of exams and improve workflow.
- Monitor the workflow of each member of the Accommodate Exam Centre team.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide decision making support to each member of the Accommodated Exam Centre team.
- Be available and knowledgeable to provide front counter triage and exam functions during breaks and vacations of Accommodated Exam Centre team.
- Establish and conduct regular meetings with the Accommodated Exam Centre team to address workflow and problems in the Exam Centre.
- Hire and schedule casual support staff as needed to support facilitation of exams or coverage of staff in the Accommodated Exam Centre.
- Coordinate and manage supports when members of the Accommodated Exam Centre are away.
- Process and submit accurate time sheets to Payroll.
Other duties as required
- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of Access and Inclusion Services and Mount Royal University policies and procedures as well as Mount Royal University services.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of Alberta Human Rights legislations MRU exam policy and the Academic Accommodation for Student Experiencing Disability policy.
Qualifications
- Three or Four Year Bachelor Degree
- Experience at a post-secondary institution
- Requires highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and problem solve with students and faculty
- Ability to supervise train and monitor staff make decisions triage and problem solve
- Ability to work with multiple departments to provide efficient and effective support and services to meet MRUs legal duty to accommodate
- Ability to multitask and work in a high-stress environment
- Knowledge of disabilities and academic accommodation services
Salary: $ 60571- 76640 per annum
