Were hiring a Engineering Manager to join our Scout teamRemitlys agentic AI team responsible for building AI-powered experiences that help customers send money and complete tasks wherever they arewhether on Remitlys website mobile app or third-party platforms like WhatsApp.
As a manager of the Scout team youll collaborate across teams to enable money transfer functionality on external platforms and help other domains by providing them with a robust conversational AI platform. Youll lead a full stack engineering team guide technical strategy and collaborate with partners in Product Design and Analytics to bring customer growth and business impact. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional partners including UX Legal Compliance and Marketing as well as most platform engineering teams giving you exposure to a wide range of technical and business challenges. You will be reporting to Senior Engineering Manager.
You Will:
- Manage a team of engineers provide technical leadership and lead complex cross-team engineering efforts.
- Guide and support team members in their career development journey.
- Collaborate with Product Design and Data teams to recognize and explore significant enhancement prospects validating hypotheses and enhancing key performance indicators.
- Engage in all phases of product development from brainstorming to execution to deployment which involves swift prototyping conducting A/B tests and deploying code to production.
- Establish standards for planning encompassing defining quarterly objectives allocating resources and adapting priorities as needed.
- Utilize your proficiency in technical writing distributed systems architecture coding and software development methodologies to drive remarkable outcomes for the team.
- Be a role model in upholding Remitlys cultural values and use them as a framework to mentor other engineers across the company to achieve their full potential.
- You will help set and hire against a high engineering talent bar for the team.
You Have:
- A degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of software development experience including backend (e.g. Go Java/Kotlin) and frontend (e.g. TypeScript React Native) technologies.
- 3 years of experience managing engineering teams with a strong track record in full stack or platform-oriented application development.
- Experience building and scaling distributed systems in a microservices environment.
- Experience driving and building long-term technical strategy across multiple engineering teams.
- Experience leading multi-quarter complex engineering projects with several engineers and working in partnership with one or more partners such as Product Managers Program Managers or TPMs.
- Experience mentoring engineers up to the Senior Engineer level.
- Experience with technical interviewing candidates for all levels up to Senior Engineer.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $148000-$185000. In Canada Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
