PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To minister to the spiritual social emotional cognitive and physical needs of homeless individuals seeking emergency shelter from the Rockford Rescue Mission Ministries. To implement program policies and procedures. To provide assistance encouragement motivation and direction to all Crisis guests. To monitor safety and security of Crisis guests visitors and volunteers. To maintain a non-threatening drug and alcohol-free environment. To be Guest Advocate for all guests who are not working full time. To be actively involved in the character growth and development of the men in the Crisis Program. To assist in the development of social and spiritual stability in the community as a contributing member in the following areas of responsibility: a strong work ethic a sense of social accountability and a Christian example to family and friends. WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environment which requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer 25% of the time. Possibility of transferring guests to other locations. GENERAL DUTIES Guest Advocacy Intake Process Crisis Intervention QUALIFICATIONS Human service experience preferred but will train appropriate candidate. Minimum requirement High School Diploma or GED. Must demonstrate compassion toward the poor needy and homeless. Must have strong leadership qualities and demonstrate character traits of integrity trustworthiness responsibility etc. Must display respect gentleness and accountability when interacting with the Crisis Program guests. J03 license required within 90 days of hire. Must be teachable and function as a team player Must use good judgment. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions Must be punctual. Must engage in safe and healthy work practices both on the premises and off-site facilities. Must take an active role ensuring the safe health and well-being of all of staff volunteers and Mission guests.
