The Systems Engineer II provides engineering and technical support to the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC). This role supports requirements analysis design development integration and evaluation of tactical communications systems and associated technologies ensuring compliance with DoD standards and interoperability requirements.
Responsibilities
Support systems engineering activities for tactical communications systems including design development and evaluation.
Assist in requirements analysis system integration and verification of DoD waveforms and Software Defined Radios (SDRs).
Conduct technical analyses to ensure compliance with DoD policies interoperability and cybersecurity requirements.
Support system and network engineering tasks including Internet Protocol and mobile networking technologies.
Collaborate with Government stakeholders in technical reviews working groups and engineering assessments.
Develop and maintain technical documentation including design documents reports and test procedures.
Provide subject matter expertise in communications system engineering security and resilience testing.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
10 years of professional experience in systems engineering or related technical discipline.
Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes technical standards and system lifecycle management.
Familiarity with RF communication systems tactical waveforms and open systems architectures.
Ability to work with Secret and Top Secret/SCI information environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing technical reports and presentations.
Eligibility for and ability to maintain a Secret clearance; TS/SCI may be required.
