SUMMARY:
Work under general supervision to assist students and teachers in use of computers and educational software in campus computer lab.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED
Completed two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or
Obtained an Associates Degree (or higher) or;
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Some experience working with children
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students staff parents and administrators.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in a written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills. Ability to operate personal computer educational software printer and copier. Ability to work with students and teachers effectively. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students staff and the general public. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk talk and sit. Moderate stooping and bending is required. Moderate lifting is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee regularly interacts with staff and the general public.
The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is regularly performed indoors.
