Summary of Position
This position is akey member of theService Departmentthat will work closely with theService Technicianstodeliver excellent service to our Knudtsen Chevrolet guests.As an automotive service writer your primary responsibilitiesare to inspect customer vehiclestodeterminetheir working conditionand needed repairs andcalculate how much any necessary repairs would cost.This position requireda high levelof integrity excellent communication skills andtop notchguest service skills.
Responsibilities
An Automotive Service Advisors main responsibility is to be the customers advocate during each step of the service process thus creating relationships with lifelong customers. This includes initiating automotive service and repairs by determining vehicle performance problems and ensuring that we repair or service the vehicle correctly the first time on time every time.
Greet or acknowledge all customers immediately upon arrival in a prompt professional and friendly manner to determine the nature of their call or visit.
Establish and maintain customer relationships thus encouraging repeat and referral business.
Schedule customer appointments with proper information.
Develop estimates based off the customers primary concern or need and address additional maintenance needs as observed.
Give fair competitive transparent price quotes that are accurately documented on repair orders and have the customers best interests in mind.
Verify warranty and service contract coverage and follow up with Warranty Administrator to ensure all procedures are handled correctly.
Serve as the liaison between the customer and the technician ensuring that the customers needs are understood by the technician and the recommended service and repairs are understood by the customer.
Handle customer complaints immediately and in accordance with Knudtsen processes.
Maintain customer service index rating score at or above market level.
Complete training as requested or required by General Motors.
Qualifications
Team player focused on providing exceptional customer service.
Maintain professional and safe work environment appearance and conduct.
Be able to proficiently use computer software programs phones etc.
Professional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent listening and problem solving skills.
Customer service experience required.
Automotive service or retail advisor experience preferred.
Able to walk or stand for 8-10 hours a day and perform a thorough inspection of vehicles by getting in and out bending twisting etc.
Must have computer skills and be proficient in MS Office Suite.
Have a valid drivers license.
Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
Pass a criminal background check and drug test (Knudtsen Chevrolet does test for marijuana). Also subject to random drug testing at the companys request.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position is an administrative position located in the Service Drive team member will be using a computer phone and doing administrative tasks while performing guest service functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up walk use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment and speak and listen both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position or standing at the work station. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 20 - 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Team Members regularly works 40 or more hours per week. While performing the duties of this job the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
