Job Description
Location: Watertown NY 13601
Duration: 13-Weeks Contract
Schedule: 12-hr Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Weekly Pay Range: $2232 $2376; (Negotiable based on experience)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week guaranteed
- Provide nursing care for laboring women including monitoring fetal and maternal status
- Perform vaginal exams to assess labor progress
- Circulate during cesarean sections and assist with recovery of spinal anesthesia
- Accurately document patient assessments interventions and outcomes
- Educate patients and families on the labor and delivery process postpartum care and newborn care
- Respond rapidly and effectively to life-threatening emergencies
- Prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with physicians midwives and the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans
- Adhere to hospital policies procedures and infection control guidelines
- Current New York State RN license (required).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required).
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required).
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Previous Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
- Ability to perform vaginal examinations.
- Ability to circulate for cesarean sections and recover patients after spinal anesthesia.
- Must have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent leadership organizational and communication skills are required.
- Ability to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations.
