Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Lead expand and implement initial and recurrent training programs for transportation personnel.
- Provide operator retraining in the event that an accident occurs.
- Provide classroom instruction and behind the wheel training for paratransit and transit bus drivers to ensure successful completion of training and testing; recommend upgrades as necessary
- Provide on-going training and performance evaluations for all Driver employees
- Assist with monthly Safety Meetings
- Assist with accident response and investigation when needed
- Correct operators when they are violating Safety policies or procedures
- Effectively coach operators on Safety events
- Assist Safety Manager with implementation of processes and training
- Assist Safety Manager with other assignments as assigned
- Lead the driver cadetting phase of training by assigning trainees with Senior Drivers to train on their assigned bid lines
- Ability to work well as a team and individually
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years as a Trainer in transportation industry desired
- Supervisory experience preferred; specifically experience supervising/training a driver workforce
- License or Certification: CDL Class B with Passenger and Air Brakes endorsement required
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint etc.) and transportation related software
- Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and group presentation skills
- Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills
- Ability to provide direction coaching and mentoring to employees while creating an environment that encourages and values input and feedback
- Ability to respond to unanticipated events
- Ability to remain flexible and adjust to changes that occur quickly
- Ability to Investigate claims and incidents of questionable conduct accidents etc.
- Computer literacy skills in word processing and spreadsheets
