Job Description
CAFETERIA WORKER 7 hour LEAD
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- In the absence of management (ABC Ast. Manager) can perform duties and responsibilities as assigned including:
- Appropriate supervision of co-worker in the preparation cooking and service of meals and a la carte offerings.
- Responsible for keeping accurate food production records
- Responsible for end of day cash handling and paperwork requirements
- Basic knowledge of ordering receiving and storage of food and supplies
- Ability to communicate appropriately with school staff and parents
- Performs a variety of duties related to the school food service program to maintain food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Prepare a wide variety of food items including main dishes baked goods sandwiches and salads.
- Set up serving areas and steam tables; serve food to students and faculty.
- Adhere to safe and sanitary working practices and procedures. Must be Serve Safe certified.
- Collect money and make change. Use of the cash register effectively.
- Operates a variety of standard kitchen equipment including but not limited to oven slicer mixer steam table warmer fryolator and steamer.
- Assure food items and supplies are stored properly.
- Perform related duties as and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be able to read and understand how to follow a recipe.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the work shift.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Communicate both written and verbally with students and adults effectively.
- Eligible to participate in professional development classes when offered.
