Job Description
Oriental Merchant is a leading wholesaler and distributor of authentic Asian Groceries globally. We have strong presence in Australia New Zealand Canada United Kingdom and Holland and our footprints continue to grow. This is an ongoing casual position with weekend work only 4 hours per shift
Training is provided and no related working experience is required so we welcome all food lovers to apply!
Your Role
Responsible for marketing and promoting food products or brands to potential customers. They engage with consumers provide product samples explain benefits and encourage sales through various in-store demonstration.
Demonstrate and promote food products at supermarkets malls restaurants trade shows and events.
Distribute free samples or conduct live cooking demonstrations to attract customers e.g. cooking instant noodles pre-cooked meals at home or stir-frying food etc.
Encourage purchases by highlighting promotions discounts and special offers.
Interact with potential customers answer questions and provide information about the products benefits ingredients and usage.
Represent and enhance the brands image by maintaining a friendly and professional brand ambassador.
Gather feedback from customers about their preferences and opinions on the product.
Ensure promotional items samples and brochures are well-stocked during events.
Provide feedback to marketing and sales teams regarding customer responses sales performance and promotional effectiveness.
Transport assemble and disassemble materials used in presentations when required.
Briefing session (online or face to face) is required for new brands and products onboard.
Adhere to all food safety standards and requirements.
About You
Have a passion to cook and share with others and support customers through retail experience
MUST HAVE a current New Zealand drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
Excellent communication skills in English in addition to Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a must
Punctual reliable well-groomed and confident
NZ working rights
