Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced planner. Your primary purpose will be to support the Development Manager with the daily line management of planning officers. This will include allocation of caseloads checking of work including planning application reports and appeals performance monitoring regular 1-2-1s and appraisals. Youll be expected to contribute to service improvements and deputise for the Development Manager where necessary. You may also be expected to be the case officer on strategic applicationsor represent the Council on appeal.

About You

The successful applicant will:

  • Possess excellent technical knowledge of development management.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Have demonstrable experience of working on a wide range of planning applications; and on major developments enforcement and appeals.
  • Have supervisory experience and manages a team effectively.
  • Demonstrate performance management skills.
  • Maintains high performance of planning applications within the statutory timeframes.
  • Be politically astute.
  • Be a highly motivated person possessing ambition and drive.
  • Be able to positively influence outcomes by working effectively with developers and applicants.
  • Be able to handle pressure and competing interests.
