Summary
- This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority aimed at developing coordinating and supporting practice learning arrangements for professional social work training. The role is crucial in promoting and facilitating the achievement of post-qualifying awards and Continuous Professional Education and Learning (CPEL). The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the quality of social work training and professional development within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the Workforce Development and Training Manager in implementing the Social Care Workforce Development Plan for Adult and Childrens Services.
- Coordinate practice teaching arrangements within the Social Care and Health Group.
- Identify train and support practice teachers providing guidance to students on placement.
- Manage arrangements for employees seconded for professional social work training.
- Collaborate with colleagues independent and voluntary sectors and Higher Education Providers to maintain a local Practice Learning Partnership.
- Promote and facilitate post-qualifying awards and Continuous Professional Development activities.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in a social care setting.
- Experience in formal training of colleagues and/or other professionals.
- Experience in supervising supporting or coaching staff students or volunteers.
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Evidence of post-qualification professional development.
- Relevant Training and Development qualification.
- Registration with the Care Council for Wales or equivalent.
- Full valid driving license and use of a car.
- DBS and HCPC Registration required.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 18.50 hours per week.
