Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading investment holding firm with a diverse portfolio across the professional services sector. They specialize in managing practices by providing strategic oversight operational support and financial discipline.

Our client is seeking an experienced Chartered Accountant (SA) to take on the role of Group CFO Consultant overseeing the financial performance of 33 growing companies. This position is focused on strategic financial leadership group-level reporting and ensuring the overall financial health and sustainable growth of the group s investments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consolidate and analyze group-wide financial reports revaluations and inter-group cash flows.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to investors and leadership.
  • Manage KPIs and monthly management reports for each invested firm.
  • Oversee contractual terms of acquisitions including earn-outs and clawbacks.
  • Lead monthly virtual meetings with practice managers to identify and address issues.
  • Implement corrective measures for underperforming practices.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships while having firm and direct conversations with experienced practice owners.
  • Report directly to the Group Leadership team.


Requirements

Experience:
  • 10 years post-qualification experience with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in multi-entity or group structure environments.
  • Experience managing financial performance and compliance for diverse business units.
  • Proven track record in strategic financial planning turnaround strategies and implementing performance improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with acquisitions from due diligence to integration including tracking of earn-outs and clawbacks.
  • Experience working with investor reporting and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Exposure to industries with professional service delivery models (accounting consulting or similar).
  • Proficient in financial reporting and KPI tracking systems with experience in ERP platforms (e.g. SAP Oracle NetSuite Microsoft Dynamics) advanced Excel and BI/reporting tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau) to consolidate and analyze data across multiple entities.
Requirements:
  • Location: Cape Town Western Cape Remote
  • CA (SA) designation (essential).
  • Proven experience in practice management or corporate group-level reporting with exposure to multiple business units.
  • Strong analytical reporting and KPI management skills.
  • Self-managing and decisive with the ability to handle difficult conversations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely with occasional travel when necessary.
  • Cultural fit for a predominantly white male industry environment.
