Our direct client is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect Manager to lead cloud strategy architecture and implementation efforts within our IT environment. This role will focus on building secure scalable and resilient cloud solutions while mentoring teams and collaborating across technology domains.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Strategy & Architecture: Design and implement enterprise-grade cloud solutions leveraging AWS with additional exposure to Azure and GCP.
Frameworks & Patterns: Define reference architectures frameworks and design patterns across PaaS IaaS Aurora Elastic Beanstalk and cloud databases.
Kubernetes & Containers: Provide strong hands-on leadership in container orchestration and deployment.
Automation & IaC: Build automation pipelines using Ansible scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable deployments.
DevOps Leadership: Architect solutions and drive operations in a DevOps environment to support modernization and cloud adoption.
Security & Compliance:
Implement and manage cloud-native security tools such as AWS Security Hub Azure Security Center and GCP Security Command Center.
Integrate SIEM solutions to enhance monitoring and response.
Ensure compliance with NIST CIS FedRAMP PCI-DSS HIPAA and other frameworks.
Apply Policy-as-Code and governance best practices.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Mentor and manage cloud engineering teams.
Collaborate with networking security and application teams to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
Review challenge and optimize design decisions across projects.
Develop documentation runbooks and operational standards.
Qualifications
Requirements
Required Skills:
Extensive hands-on AWS experience; additional working knowledge of Azure & GCP.
Strong background in Kubernetes containerization and orchestration.
Proficiency in automation configuration management and IaC (e.g. Ansible Terraform CloudFormation).
Experience leading teams in a DevOps-driven environment.
Deep knowledge of security tools and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Certifications such as AWS Certified Security Azure Security Engineer Associate Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer CISSP CCSP.
Prior experience with state government IT systems (Missouri experience strongly preferred).
Expertise in large-scale enterprise cloud migration and optimization.

Strong expertise in Microsoft Purview Information Protection: data classification, labeling, and rule-based policy enforcement. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint: behavioral analysis, exfiltration detection, and policy configuration. Experience with forensics, security monitoring, and alert integration into SIEM/SOAR -depth knowledge of DLP best practices, incident response, and data security compliance requirements. Ability to perform detailed troubleshooting, policy fine-tuning, and root cause analysis. Excellent communication skills for working with stakeholders, technical teams, and compliance officers. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft certifications in Security, Compliance, and Identity solutions (e.g., SC-400: Microsoft Information Protection Administrator or SC-200: Microsoft Security Operations Analyst).
