Job Description

To provide consistent care guidance and support to children and young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD) in a safe nurturing residential environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality child-centred care in line with individual care and behaviour management plans.

  • Build positive trusting relationships that encourage growth independence and resilience.

  • Support with daily routines including personal care education recreational activities and life skills.

  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies to manage challenging behaviour.

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.

  • Maintain accurate records reports and logs in line with Ofsted and organisational requirements.

  • Contribute to team meetings care planning and multi-agency working.

  • Help maintain a safe structured and homely environment.



Requirements

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children/young people with EBD and/or LD (desirable).

  • Knowledge of safeguarding child protection and behaviour management.

  • Compassionate resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.

  • Flexible to work shifts including evenings weekends and sleep-ins (where applicable).

  • Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held).
